Acupressure

Acupressure is more effective than physical therapy

We all know acupressure has existed for 5,000 years now and we are involved in holistic and health remains confident that the closed procedure in this field is more efficacious than physical therapy. Every life has life, or energy, called Qi or Chi (pronounced “Chee”). When this energy, which flows along the meridian, balanced and free flows, the body is healthy. Acupoints utilizes the main energy energy path

When this energy is blocked or lacking, the disease can occur. This energy disorder is often the result of stress or injury. It is believed that acupressure causes the brain to release endorphins. Endorphins play an important role in immune function, pain relief, stress reduction, and slow down the aging process.

Lower back pain has long been a Bain from the modern world not only at the humans lost but also because of many side effects, complications and nuances of complaints of lower back pain. Further studies now confirm the benefits of acupressure for physical therapy. Although the study failed to take into account functional status and disability as recommended by most low back pain researchers the results were still very meaningful and relevant. In February 2006, randomized controlled trials took place at the Taiwan National University in Taipei.

129 Patients with chronic lower back pain receive acupressure or physical therapy for 1 month. The primary endpoint is the Chinese version itself from the standard results measures for lower back pain (Roland and Morris disabled questionnaire) at the beginning, after treatment, and at follow-up 6 months. After treatment, the scores of the Roland and Morris defective questionnaire were significantly lower in the acupressure group than in the physical therapy group regardless of the difference in absolute scores or the average changes from the baseline.

Compared to physical therapy, acupressure is associated with a reduction in 89% in significant disability and the increase is maintained at 6 months follow-up. Limitations of study include psychological effects of confusing therapy; Losing 15.5% of patients to follow up on 6 months and the effectiveness of each manipulation therapy depends on the engineering and experience of the therapist.

Participants aged 18 to 81 years. Exclusion criteria are pregnancy and contraindications for acupressure. 64 patients were randomized for acupressure and 65 to physical therapy. Conclusive or cannot be concluded that the results still point towards an undisputed and positive aspect of the acupressure and holistic healing.

On a lighter note, Acupressure has also been quoted as a new assistance for sleepy students. 39 Volunteers Students find that they are taught to manage acupressure with stimulation points on the legs, legs, hands and their heads tend to be sleepy during class. Acupressure consists of finger light tapping or using a thumb or forfinger to massage with a light stimulation point. Recognized that more research is needed with respect to acupressure and effects on human alertness.
